Dr. Randall Shannon

Dr. Randall Shannon

Dr. Randall Shannon received his doctorate in Marketing, with a focus on cross-cultural consumer behavior and branding, from Thammasat University. Following a career in marketing research at AC Nielsen, he has been teaching in Thailand for more than 20 years, typically on topics related to marketing, consumer behavior, marketing research, new product development, and advertising.

Dr. Shannon has published more than 100 conference papers and journal articles, 7 book chapters, and a marketing textbook. He has published articles in international journals, such as the Journal of Brand Management, Sustainability, and Oxford's European Retail Digest. He has also worked on various consulting projects within Asia for companies such as McKinsey and Temporal Brand Consulting.

Dr. Shannon's research interests include consumer behavior (especially cross-cultural aspects) as relates to retailing and shopping behavior, as well as marketing in general. He enjoys exploring consumer motivations and how this can be applied to enhance marketing, such as through more effective advertising and branding. His research interests also include successful aging, marketing to aging consumers, and sustainability issues, such as sustainable consumption.

Professor George P. Moschis

Professor George P. Moschis

George P. Moschis is a former Alfred Bernhardt Research Professor of Marketing and the founding director of the Center for Mature Consumer Studies (CMCS) at Georgia State University. He is currently serving as an adjunct professor at Mahidol University in Thailand, where he has founded and directed the Consumer Life-course Studies Group (CLSG), a global network of academic researchers. Dr. Moschis’ research has been widely known among academics and industry over the years, and the CMCS was recognized on several occasions by American Demographics as one of the best sources of marketing information in the United States.

As a visitor to various types of organizations around the globe, Dr. Moschis would lecture annually in several countries on five continents and has been considered by practitioners to be one of the world’s foremost authorities on consumption habits across different generations. His list of publications includes hundreds of peer-reviewed articles and papers, dozens of research monographs, and ten research books.

Based on the impact of lifelong work, today Dr. Moschis is considered one of the most influential scholars of the study of consumers over the course of their lives. He is ranked among the top 2.0% of most cited researchers globally by Stanford University in 2024, while ScholarGPS, which ranks over 30 million scholars–including inactive, diseased and retired scholars in more than 200 countries– have placed him in the top 0.05% of all scholars in the world in recent years based on his publication record, the impact of his work, and the quality of his scholarly contributions.

Dr. Murtaza Haider

Dr. Murtaza Haider

Murtaza Haider is a marketing researcher and educator based in Bangkok, Thailand. His research interests include consumer well-being, sustainable consumption, mindfulness, and how people adapt to change throughout their lives. His growing interest in aging focuses on understanding consumers and their consumption adaptations as they age, the changing needs and experiences, and how businesses and marketers can respond more thoughtfully for their well-being.

He has taught Marketing to Aging Consumers, as well as courses in marketing management, digital marketing, and product positioning. Murtaza is particularly interested in connecting research on aging and well-being with practical questions about how organizations can better understand and serve people as they grow older.
